New Rules for Addressing Flat Mail
Posted November 19, 2008
On
March 29, 2009, the USPS will implement new address placement and
formatting requirements for Standard Mail (including Non-Profit),
Periodicals, Bound Printed Matter, Media Mail, and Library Mail
flat-size pieces sent at automation, presorted, or carrier route
prices. Also, the USPS will adopt related revisions for automation
and presorted First-Class Mail flats. These changes are the result
of the USPS’s new Flats Sequencing System (FSS), which will
automate delivery sequencing for flat-size mail. To help mailers,
the USPS has published four fact sheets, which now are available
right here for your convenience.
